Heat Exchanger Industry.
The process of transferring heat energy from a hot fluid indirectly (e.g., through an interstitial wall) or directly to a cold fluid.
Complex in nature, not only the heat transfer through the interstitial wall must be taken into account, but also the convective heat transfer of the fluids on both sides of the interstitial wall, and sometimes the radiation heat transfer must be taken into account. The heat exchange problems often encountered in the chemical industry are generally not high temperature, but there are many types and the calculations are complicated.
The three main types of heat exchange in industry are inter-wall, thermal storage and hybrid.
